The Hurlers of Kilfenora and Kilmacduagh

Matt Bermingham, one of our founder members, has written the above-named book on the history of hurling in the Clare-Galway border area and covers the rocky Burren Country where our founder Michael Cusack grew up. It deals with the period from 1746 (over a century before the GAA was founded) to 1886. Even though it concentrates on a territory stretching from Kilfenora and Liscannor in Clare to Kinvara and Gort in County Galway it should be of interest also to lovers of social history and of hurling in places like Killenaule, Mullinavat, Portroe, Crumlin, Cloyne and the Glens of Antrim.  It would be an ideal gift for a local historian or hurler – past or present. It costs a mere €7 or two copies for €10. Signed copies may be purchased from the author at 29 Clonard Lawn.
