Proposed Guidelines for Managers and Mentors
01 May 2010
We in Naomh Olaf GAA Club wish to improve the performances of all our adult teams and to ensure that all adult playing members of the Club have the opportunity to play Hurling and or Football.
Following the first meeting of the Adult Games Committee the following guidelines are to be put in place for Managers and Mentors to enable all teams to concentrate on training and playing games. In addition, the aim of the guidelines is to create a spirit of cooperation and respect between managers and mentors of all our adult teams.
The Adult Games Committee (AGC) believes that communication is the key to success.
Secretary Adult games Com.

Proposed guidelines for Managers/Mentors
- Managers must ensure that trainers and training facilities are in place for their teams for the season.
- Managers must provide a panel of Twenty Two players to the AGC before the season starts.
- Managers who need to use a player from another panel must get permission from that players's Manager.
- Managers of Adult team may only use Minor Players with the permission of the players Parents and the Minor Management team.
- Managers should ensure that all equipment, Hurleys, Footballs, First Aid Kits etc are available for their panels at all times.
- Permission must be sought from Secretary of AGC regarding challenge game. Secretary must notify the County Secretary THREE days in advance of game, games organised outside County must be notified FIVE days in advance.
- Time/date changes to games must be notified to CCC Parnell Park by email no later than 12pm Friday prior to game. Games played without permission will be declared null and void.
- All teams must stick to their training times and allocated area, particularly during the Winter months.
- All Manager and selectors must be approved by the Executive committee prior to taking up the role. Managers must report to the AGC any player who is red carded during a game. Players suspended has the right to a Hearing, therefore it is imperative that sending offs are reported to the Committee, once notification of suspension is received the Club has only THREE days to prepare for the HEARING.
- Players Insurance – Please see website www.naomholaf.ie
- GAC meet every 4/6 weeks Mentors/Managers should try to attend the meeting to inform Committee of the up-to-date status of their team and to communicate any issues/difficulties they may be experiencing. Going forward all Mentors will be infomed of the date and time of Meeting.
Proposed Guidelines for use of Pitches
- The most senior team has the first choice on the pitches for league and championship matches.
- Challenge matches for any team have no priority over official league or championship matches when using pitches.
- Under no circumstances should Training/Matches take place on pitches when they have been declared unplayable by DLRCC. When Pc Uí Bhrian is deemed unplayable by Council, permission must be sought from AGC to play/train on the Benildus pitch. Pitches are not to be used for any purpose when they are called off.
- The AGC will arrange some games for all adult teams to be played in Ballyogan. All teams will be expected to play in Ballyogan during the season. This must be done in order to maintain our hold on the Ballyogan pitch. We have lost the use of Meadowbrook pitch from lack of use, we cannot lose Ballyogan.
- Championship Senior or Junior games have priority over all league games.
- Final decisions on whether pitches are playable or not must be made by the AGC in conjunction with the pitch maintenance committee.
