The U12 team 1 travelled to Arthur Griffith Park to play second in the table Lucan Sarsfields in the penultimate game in the Cup competition on Saturday, March 6th. The teams last met on February 6th in the same competition and served up an excellent game of football. Saturday’s game was no different with both teams playing some lovely football. Unlike previous games though, Olaf’s turned in a sterling performance in the first half and trailed by just 2 points at the break and left Olaf’s with a realistic chance of causing an upset. As usual, Jordan O’Connor made some magnificent saves at crucial stages of the game. He was ably assisted by defenders Tom McGurk, Conor Kirwan, Jack Dalton, Eoin Foley and Jamie Deiseach. The midfield pairing of Sean McDaid and Tom Keane coped admirably with their opponents with Tom turning in a “Man of the Match” performance by contributing 1-6 to Olaf’s final tally of 2-8.
The forwards of Conor Brady, Glenn Soraghan, Fiachra O’Sullivan and Cian DeBurca all plugged away tirelessly throughout the game. Lucan pulled away towards the end by getting some vital scores at crucial parts of the game.
The panel on duty on Saturday was: Jordan O’Connor, Tom Keane, Conor Kirwan, Jack Dalton, Eoin Foley (0-1), Jamie Deiseach, Sean McDaid, Tom Keane (1-6), Conor Brady, Glenn Soraghan, Fiachra O’Sullivan (1-0) and Cian DeBurca.
The last game in this competition will take place on Saturday March 20th when this team travels to play Ballyboden St. Enda’s.

The U12 team 2 played Ballyboden St. Enda's in Pairc Ui Bhriain on Saturday March 6th. The team had won their previous 4 games and wanted to complete the league section unbeaten. 'Boden had other ideas and by half time, they were ahead by 2-4 to 1-1. The team realised that they had a real challenge on their hands in the second half and rose to the occasion by scoring 2-8 and not letting 'Boden register another score. This was a marvellous second half display by the team. Ben Thornton was as reliable as ever in goals as were defenders Daire Coleman, Cian Power-Kelly, Ryan Murphy, Alex Start and Neil O'Mahony. In midfield, both Tristan Kennedy and David Breathnach took total control and dictated the flow of the game. Up front Chloe O'Ceallaigh, Matthew O'Ceallaigh, Eric Stapleton, Ian McAuliffe and Matthew Deering caused a lot of problems for the 'Boden backs. Declan Murphy, Gavin Soraghan, Cian McDaid and Daniel Stapleton were introduced during the game and added extra spice to the team. Tristan Kennedy scored a magnificent 2-9 from play and was the worthy recipient of "Man of The Match". Well done Tristan. Let's hope he can keep his shooting boots on for the semi-final! The team have finished the league section of the competition unbeaten with 5 wins out of 5. Thanks to Fiachra O'Ceallaigh, Paul Murphy and Stephen Stapleton for all the work they've done so far with the team. Hopefully they can keep it going and we'll see some silverware on its way to the clubhouse in the next few weeks.
