The U12 hurling team 1 played Cuala in the second round of the cup on Saturday March 13th. This was an excellent game played in a very sporting manner by both teams. The pitch was in excellent condition which added to the enjoyment of all concerned. Olaf’s matched Cuala stroke for stroke throughout the game and the teams were level with a couple of minutes to go. However, Cuala scored 2 unanswered points to secure victory. This was a great team performance with everybody giving their all. Tom Keane scored 1-1, Chloe O’Ceallaigh contributed a goal and Eoin Foley scored 1 point. This team play Faughs at home on March 27th in the next round of the competition. If they can reproduce the same sort of form that they showed on Saturday, there’s no reason that victory can’t be theirs.
The panel on duty on Saturday was: Glenn Soraghan, Rory Gallagher, Tom McGurk, Sean McDaid, Ben Thornton, Eoin Foley (0 – 1), Jamie Deiseach, Jordan O’Connor, David Breathnach, Tom Keane (1-1), Matthew O’Ceallaigh, Cian De Burca, Conor Brady, Cian Power-Kelly, Chloe O’Ceallaigh (1-0), Jack Dalton.
Team 2 didn’t have a game on Saturday as Naomh Mearnog was unable to fulfil the fixture. This team’s next game is also on March 27th where they play Naomh Barrog at home.
