28th March 2010          Senior Football League

Naomh Olaf 0 – 8                    Ballinteer St John’s 0 – 8

Scores were hard to come by in this league game. In spite of sustained early pressure by Olaf’s Ballinteer registered the first point. Cormac Lucey pointed a free to level the scores but John’s then scored three points without reply. Olaf’s were badly in need of a score when the John’s keeper saved a penalty kick. Eoin Kinsella scored from a free and Gary Wilkins scored from play leaving the scores at half-time at
0 – 4 for John’s and 0 – 3 for Olaf’s.

Gary Wilkins opened the scoring in the second half to level but John’s regained the lead almost immediately. Shane Whyte celebrated his birthday with a fine point and Eoin Kinsella added another from a free to edge Olaf’s ahead. John’s pulled back a point and Eoin Christian and Shane Whyte again pointed from play to give Olaf’s a two point lead with time running out. Olaf’s were not able to hold on to this lead and John’s scored the last two points of the game to level the scores and share the points at 0 – 8 each.
