Following on from their marvellous victory in round 1 of the league, the U12 team 1 travelled to Bohernabreena to take on St. Anne’s on Saturday May 22nd. This was a lot tougher game, but they continued on their winning ways by winning by 3-13 to 3-9. During the game, the lads hit the upright 7 times. Had these gone over or under the bar, the winning margin would have been a lot bigger. Like the last game, Glenn Soraghan finished the game as the top scorer with a tally of 1-5. Jack Dalton turned in a glorious second half performance by scoring 2-1. Tom Keane was his usual dependable self and finished the game with 4 points. Sean McDaid scored 2 points and his mid-field partner, Jamie Deasy, completed the scoring with a point. Eoin Foley turned in another outstanding performance and won the “Man of the Match” award. He made some marvellous interceptions throughout the game and set up a lot of scores. We were delighted to welcome back Cian Coughlan to the panel following his exploits on the rugby pitch with Terenure College. Cian slotted into the forward line and covered a lot of ground during the game. In the next round, the team play Kilmacud Crokes. Like Olaf’s, Crokes are unbeaten in the league, so this should be a spectacular game. The panel on duty was: Jordan O’Connor, Tom McGurk, Conor Kirwan, Jamie Deasy (0-1), Sean McDaid (0-2), Eoin Foley, Alex Start, Tom Keane (0-4), Fiachra O’Sullivan, Jack Dalton (2-1), Glenn Soraghan (1-5), Cian Coughlan, Rory Gallagher. Team 2 had a great win when they took on Balinteer St. Johns in their second game of the league. The final score was Olaf’s 5-10 John’s 4-2.
