Eoin Kinsella opened the scoring with a fine point from play but Cuala responded smartly with four unanswered points.  Both teams worked hard for further scores and at halftime Cuala had the advantage by 0 – 8 to 0 – 6 including one disputed point which was waved wide by the umpire but awarded by the referee. 

Scores were rare in a tough physical second half but Cuala held on to win by a margin of 0 – 9 to

  0 – 8.
