Naomh Olaf Senior Hurlers Vs St Kevins 19 February 2012 at Dolphin Park

Our senior hurlers started their 2012 competitive season in a Corn Ceatinn cup game against St Kevins in Dolphin Park this weekend,losing by the narrowest of margins ,on a score of 3-12 to 4-8.Olafs got off to a good start and had a commanding lead at half time of 6 points. However a turning point early in the second half was when Olafs goalkeeper Shane O Connor had to retire having sustained a nasty leg injury. Kevins took full advantage and notched up some good scores including a long range point with the final puck of the game to secure the points. 

However Olafs can take a lot of positives from their first outing. It was a very good overall team performance with particularly fine individual performances from Donie Mac Mathuna, Peter Gordan, Ritchie Mc Donnell, Gavin Stapleton and Diarmuid Lynch.
