Under 13 Boys   13/02/2017

The under 13 boys are in the happy position of fielding 2 teams thanks to the efforts of a dedicated group of mentors in recent years.

Team 1 played their second of four Gaelic football grading matches at home to Erin's Isle on Saturday.  The game was played in challenging weather conditions.  Two goals conceded early in the first half to Erin's Isle meant that the Naomh Olaf boys were playing catch up from the off. However, they fought hard and ended the first half all square 3-1 to 3-1. Driving rain and a strong wind welcomed both teams back onto the pitch for the second half and despite a strong performance from the home team Erin's Isle three second half goals to Naomh Olaf's two saw them through to a win with a final score of 6-2 to 5-3. Hard luck boys. Lean oraibh!!

Meanwhile Team 2 travelled to St. Annes park to face Scoil Ui Chonaill also in the Gaelic football grading league.  With a number of the regular team 2 players playing for team 1, the boys struggled to get on top of the home side and were beaten, the final score line was 10-5 to 2-3.  Next Saturday team 1 are away to St. Maurs in Rush and team 2 will play Fingal Ravens on Sunday in a re-scheduled fixture.  Keep it up lads.
