Under 11 Hurlers have a Tough Opener

The U11 Naomh Olaf hurling teams made the short trip to Deer Park to take on near neighbours Kilmacud Crokes in their first hurling matches of the new season.  The boys on all three teams were up against skilful and capable Crokes sides.   All three matches were dominated by the home team and the Naomh Olaf lads, despite their early season training, were unable to register a win in any of the games.  Team 1 lost 4:9 to 0:5, team 2 went down 11:6 to 2:0 and team 3 by 11:9 to 2:2.  Things will improve and the coaches are encouraging all the boys to practice hurling for twenty minutes everyday and are appealing to parents to get their sons out with their hurl practising their pick ups and catches whenever they can. Next week the U11's switch to football welcoming Castleknock to Páirc Ui Bhriain.
