Setanta gain revenge against Naomh Olaf Camogie Seniors   28/02/2017

Setanta were the visitors to Naomh Olaf for the first competitive match of the season last Sunday.  In their previous two encounters we recorded one point victories but this was not going to be the case on this occasion.

Setanta won the toss and decided to play against the wind which was blowing a gale directly from Beacon to St. Benildus College.  The Naomh Olaf girls missed a couple of frees and could have had two goals but it was Setanta who took the game to the Naomh Olaf girls and held the lead at half time 2-1 to 0-5.

Setanta opened the second half with a quick point .  The wind had picked up and the home side were struggling to get the ball past the halfway line in worsening conditions.  Setanta's former inter county player Rebecca Doherty was their target player and they went on to score 3-3 to Naomh Olaf's 2-1.  Final score 4-5 to 2-6 to Setanta.

The goals were the difference between both teams again. With inter county players excluded from cup competition the team will need to lift their performance for the next game at home to St. Marks.
