Hurlers lose but look forward to the future   14/03/2017

Sunday proved a disappointing start for the two Naomh Olaf adult hurling teams as they played their first fixtures in the 2017 league.

The senior team, in their first match in Division 2, came up against a strong St. Oliver Plunkett's / Eoghan Ruadh team who were only recently relegated from Senior A hurling.  In a distinct step up from their position in Division 3 last year, the Naomh Olaf lads took time to adjust and were beaten by seven points at the finish.  It will take a little time to come to terms with life in the higher division but team management and players must take confidence from the fine scoreline of 2:16 which they recorded.

The Juniors meanwhile took the long trip to St. Sylvester's where they met a strong and capable side.  Despite a good effort the Malahide team finished with a 1:20 to 1:7 win.
