First it was Strictly, then it was the Kube, last Year it was Lip Sync but our hard wordworking fund-raising committee has decided on I'm a Celebrity.... for 2018.  With Saturday, 21 April set as the date, the committee is now starting the hard work of staging the performance.  Barry Nestor ( is the main man and as as usual he has a great committee working with him.  So come on board and join in.  It is very enjoyable and the funds it raises are much needed in moving the club forward.  This will be a high profile and much publicised event and the committee is offering the opportunity for a headline sponsor to undertake sponsorship of the event.  So, give Barry a shout if you are interested and he will give you the details!!!!

In its 20th year, the very popular Andy Gibbons 3rd Class Inter-school Hurling tournament was held over recent weeks with the finals taking place on Thursday, 15 March in the Naomh Olaf GAA Club Hall.  Kilkenny man Gibbons, the first Naomh Olaf Club Games Promotion Officer, instituted this competition in 1998.  It has served as a source of great excitement and enjoyment for students, parents and indeed teachers in participating schools in the Dundrum / Sandyford area.  And Andy himself, now a sprightly 83 years of age, organises the competion with current club GPO, Eddie Bouabbse, and with great assistance from Joey Jackson and Dave Kinsella.

Darren Egan hs filled the role of Games Promotion Officer in Naomh Olaf GAA Club for the last eight years.  During his busy tenure Darren has contributed hugely to the blossoming of Gaelic Games in the Naomh Olaf club and in the local schools. A well liked and hugely respected individual, Darren's role had two dimensions.  In the local schools he worked with teachers and pupils in developing and promoting our national games and in improving their skills.  In the Naomh Olaf club his role encompassed many areas but the benefits of his work were seen in the improvent in coaching and in the development of the skills of both mentors and players.  Darren will be hugely missed but he has left his mark.  Darren has decided to follow a career in teaching and we wish him every success in this new venture.  In a reflection of the regard in which Darren was held, a large crowd, representing both schools and club,, gathered in Naomh Olaf GAA Club recently and a presentation was made to Darren to mark his contribution.  Go n-éirí go geal Darren táimid an-bhuíoch díot.
